Feeling financially strapped after the
holidays? The Mostly British Film Festival and the San Francisco
Neighborhood Theater Foundation are offering a free screening
of the Cannes 2009 Jury Prize winner Fish Tank.
A womans desire is the subject of this taboo-breaking film
about a 15-year old girl who becomes attracted to her mothers
young boyfriend played by Hungers Michael
Fassbender. The disruption in everyones life is vividly
captured by director Andrea Arnold, an Oscar winner for her short
film Wasp. Her debut feature Red Road
was another Cannes Jury Prize winner.
Fish Tank will play at 11 a.m. January 16 at
the Vogue Theater, 3290 Sacramento Street in San Francisco. For
free tickets, e-mail voguersvp@gmail.com
with FISH TANK and your name in the subject
line and how many tickets (up to four) you request in the body
of the e-mail. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail.
The screening is a benefit for the San Francisco Neighborhood
Theater Foundation and donations are encouraged.
